How PSPINC Pioneered Global Communication in the 1990s

How PSPINC Pioneered Global Co...

At PSPINC, we’re constantly looking ahead: developing modern web hosting, launching digital marketing campaigns, and upgrading platforms like Bloguru and WebdeXpress. However, our company’s foundation rests on a rich history of solving complex technical challenges.

Let’s go back to August 1996: After releasing one of our earliest flagship products, KanjiKit, Computing Japan magazine published a review. Looking back, this breakthrough product highlights exactly how innovation has always driven PSPINC from day one.

The 1990s Dilemma: Doing Business Globally in an English-Only Digital World

In 1996, computer operating systems struggled to keep up with the fast expansion of global business. If you were a bilingual professional working between the U.S. and Japan, Windows 95 forced you to either:
  • Run English applications inside a fully Japanese operating system and navigate complex Japanese menus and help files.
  • Install completely separate English and Japanese versions of Windows 95 on the same machine, making you reboot every time you need to switch languages.

Enter KanjiKit: The Tool That Broke Language Barriers

Instead of forcing users to switch operating systems, PSPINC built a groundbreaking solution to this challenge: KanjiKit

KanjiKit was a streamlined utility toolbar directly inside the standard English Windows operating system. After a quick installation, users could type in romaji, select the correct kanji characters, and drop them straight into English applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Notepad. Furthermore, KanjiKit let English-based computers accurately render and view Japanese web pages for the very first time. Packaged with a bilingual user manual and TrueType fonts, it became an essential tool for cross-border commerce.

Three Decades of Connecting People and Businesses

While the tech world has evolved beyond CD-ROMS, PSPINCs core mission hasn’t changed. In 1996, we helped businesses communicate across language barriers with KanjiKit. Today, we help businesses navigate the complex digital landscape through secure web hosting, custom web development, SEO, and content creation.

Experience matters when choosing a digital partner. We help tackle your technical hurdles today so your business can thrive tomorrow, just like we did 30 years ago. Connect with us today to help your business grow, adapt, and succeed online.
