Web Application Tester

SUMMARY
Develops testing procedures and documentation for websites and web applications created within the Research & Development department. This includes but is not limited to writing and executing testing procedures, as well as assisting in determining a standard for the work-flow of projects from initial development through bug testing, deployment, and verification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides feedback on cause and effect of bugs and errors in a given test situation.
- Comprehends the full scope of a web application or website to develop applicable and comprehensive testing procedures.
- Applies appropriate test methodologies including writing test plans, test cases, and manual tests.
- Conducts tests and inspections of websites and web applications to evaluate quality or performance.
- Provides clear and concise feedback on bugs and other test findings/results.
- Implements a work-flow standard for the full project life-cycle.
- Distinguishes between user error and actual application bugs.
- Defines project expectations and timelines for deliverables to fellow team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Technical certification in a computer or web related field; or, equivalent work experience.
- 1-2 years of demonstrated QA skills such as test planning, ad hoc and planned test execution, bug isolation, troubleshooting and bug reporting.
- Working knowledge of web design and web programming preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with Windows operating systems.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Fluency in Japanese preferred.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Ability to analyze needs and product requirements to provide solutions.
- Ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from fellow teams and managers.

Bilingual Web Designer

SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the design and creation of web pages and websites for PSP and PSP customers. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and updating web pages and websites for existing clients and PSP web applications. The candidate will also be responsible for updates, development, and translation for Chinese websites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, designs, develops, tests, edits, maintains, and documents the look and flow of web pages and websites.
- Communicates with the sales department to determine customer needs and goals.
- Designs a plan for proposed sites using a combination of graphic and written material, and modifies designs as necessary in cooperation with the sales department and customer.
- Creates specifications and estimates of the project and reports to the sales department.
- Creates graphics, Flash animations, and HTML/CSS templates for websites.
- The ability to handcode without the use of third party applications such as Dreamweaver is preferable.
- Knowledge in using Javascript, XSL, and Flash Active if a web page requires dynamic scripts is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of FTP.
- Presents pages to the customers to solicit feedback and modifies pages as needed.
- Troubleshoots any issues on web pages such as cross browser compatibility problems on all major web browsers.
- Develops all projects with a strong foundation on the latest web standards.
- Creates deployment procedures and deploys website updates to servers at PSP.
- Writes documentation to describe program development, coding and corrections.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's Degree from a two year college or university, or equivalent in a certified technical college and one to two years of professional web design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Fluency in CSS, HTML and Javascript with an understanding of cross-browser design issues and a strong foundation in building semantically correct/standards compliant websites.
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and an in-depth knowledge of online media production practices, such as web and cross-browser support.
- PHP, XML, cakePHP, and knowledge of version control desired.
- Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Native level Chinese language skill is necessary for both written and verbal communication and content translation.
