Getting Involved
In November 2011, Mayumi Nakamura, PSPINC’s President and CEO, visited the Miyagi Prefecture in Japan, the epicenter of the Earthquake and Tsunami to see how PSPINC can help make a difference in rebuilding efforts. More than nine months after the tragedy, she witnessed first-hand the destruction left by this natural disaster: ships scattered on land, buildings completely destroyed, and debris everywhere. After this visit, Mayumi has a renewed sense of purpose and a desire to make a difference in these affected communities.
PSPINC will provide our readers with updates on PSPINC’s current involvement in helping the Tohoku region rebuild and share the stories Mayumi carried back from Japan. We support the rebuilding efforts and would like to see support for the people deeply affected by this tragedy continued by organizations in the United States and abroad. If you would like to find out what you can do to help, please email us, or call 1-800-232-3989.
